Journey to Me is a series of diary entries that I begin in 2009. This series serves as an autobiographical journey into my life and experiences. Someone asked me a few days ago why I choose to share this and be so transparent with it all. My answer was because I wanted to expose things that typically happen when parents die and children are left behind..especially when provisions are not made for those kids before hand. My mother died really young (38 years old) and during that time, most black families didn’t do life/death planning; therefore kids were usually just all over the place. My life and my experiences cover a whole lot of territory and I have always been of the belief that there were others out there like myself who had experienced the good and the bad in life and overcame it. Journey to Me is not a story of downtrodden girl, but a story of a victorious girl, who grew into a strong woman who fought and overcame life and its adversity.
